Best of Show at the 64th Annual Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance.
Congratulations to Lorenzo and Susan Nannini of Colma, California, whose 1933 Chrysler Imperial LeBaron won Best of Show at this weekend's 64th Annual Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance.  The event raised proceeds for Autism Speaks, The Guardsmen, Gatepath and the Hillsborough Schools Foundation.

More than 200 cars were on the field at the Crystal Springs Golf Course on Sunday and Mrs. TireKicker and I had a delightful morning admiring the art of the designers and the love of the owners for these amazing machines that date back to the beginnings of the automobile and include some state-of-the-art vehicles as well.

There were simply too many great cars to cover comprehensively here, so here are some that caught my eye.  We'll start with the featured marque this year, Porsche:

And yes, that last is a Porsche Diesel tractor.  I'd love to say "oh, sure", but I honestly didn't know about them until I saw this one and its big brother on the field.  There's a fascinating story behind them.  Click here to learn more.

As for the breadth of the field, we have the very beginnings, represented by this 1900 Mercedes-Simplex:

And the current century, represented by what, until recently, was the fastest production car in the world, the Bugatti Veyron:

Hillsborough also featured a couple of stunning Duesenbergs:

Some lovely post-war British cars:

A marvelous run of some of the best from Mercedes-Benz:

You can appreciate how hard the judges' jobs were.

And of course, there were customs, hot rods, American muscle cars and more---there's simply too much to show here.  Bookmark the Hillsborough Concours d'Elegance website, save the date for a Sunday soon to be announced in July of 2020 and we'll see you there.
