Nine months have passed since
our last drive of a Toyota Corolla LE Eco. So what has changed? Apart from the model year (2014 to 2015), not much. And that is a very good thing.

There is no need to fool around with what works, and this Corolla, as Michael has noted, may be the first desirable Corolla in a generation. Though
his fondness begins and ends with the Corolla S, there is a lot to like about the LE Eco as well.

The 2015 we tested was equipped exactly the same as the 2014, but packaged a bit differently. Toyota now offers a "Premium" level, and it included the optional Driver Convenience Package from last year's car (pushbutton stop and start, upgraded Entune audio system, HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite Radio) and the power tilt and slide moonroof.
That is $2,360 worth of options, but it is included in the LE Eco Premium's $22,675 base price. Additionally, our test vehicle had carpeted floor mats and a trunk mat for $225. The delivery charge has gone up from $810 to $825, and with the expected annual price bump, the as-tested price for this car was $455 more than last year's, at $23,725.
The EPA fuel economy estimates remain the same, and in our experience are realistic, at 30 city/40 highway. The Corolla LE Eco Premium proves that frugality need not be the same as privation.
